Dickie Davis (born 22 January 1922 in Birmingham, England) is an English former footballer who played for Sunderland and Darlington as a striker.

Club career

He made his debut for Sunderland on 7 December 1946 against Leeds United in a 1–1 draw at Elland Road.[1] He finished as the Football League First Division's top scorer in the 1949–50 season with 25 goals.[2] During his time at Roker Park spanning from 1946 to 1953, where he made 144 league appearances, scoring 73 goals.[3] He then moved onto Darlington in 1954 and scored 32 goals in 93 league appearances in 4 seasons at Feethams.[4] In 1957 he retired from football, aged just 35.[5]
